FOUNDATION GOLF TOURNAMENT TO HONOR JOSHUA M. FREEMAN ON MONDAY

Sold-out Tournament Expected to Raise Over $200,000 for the Arts

May 31, 2007 - Olney, MD and Fenwick Island, DE

The Joshua M. Freeman Foundation, established this year to honor the former Chair of the Carl M. Freeman Foundation after his tragic death in December, will continue the golf tournament held each year to raise money in support of charitable activities in the Mid-Atlantic region. Foursomes were sold out months ago. With the additional sponsorships sold and donated auction items, the tournament is expected to raise over $200,000. Major sponsors include Meltzer Wealth Management, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, and the Washington Capitals.

For the past six years, the Carl M. Freeman Foundation has held a golf tournament to raise money for the Freeman Foundation Assists Communities with Extra Support (F.A.C.E.S.) program, supporting non-profits in the Mid-Atlantic area. This seventh tournament will be held on Monday, June 4, 2007, for the first time at the award-winning 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course at the resort community Bayside built by the Carl M. Freeman Companies in Fenwick Island, Delaware. Proceeds from this year’s tournament are expected to fund the initial stages of the development of the Joshua M. Freeman Center for the Performing Arts at Bayside.

The Joshua M. Freeman Foundation will work to sustain Josh’s legacy of supporting the communities in which he lived and worked. Michelle D. Freeman, Chair of the Foundation said, “I am happy that Josh’s vision for the betterment of our communities is able to be continued through the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation. I am excited to see us honor his legacy of commitment to the community through this 7th Annual Golf Tournament.”
